Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Reynella East in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (155 people or 17.2%)
  • Retail Trade (114 people or 12.6%)
  • Construction (97 people or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 366 people in total or 40.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Onkaparinga employed 16.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.2% in Retail Trade; and 9.9% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Reynella East and the City of Onkaparinga were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in financial and insurance services (4.4% compared to 3.0%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (9.4% compared to 8.1%)
