Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Christies Beach in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (333 people or 16.8%)
  • Construction (252 people or 12.7%)
  • Retail Trade (234 people or 11.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 819 people in total or 41.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Onkaparinga employed 16.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.9% in Construction; and 12.2% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Christies Beach and the City of Onkaparinga were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (12.7% compared to 9.9%)
