Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Kariong in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (464 males or 26.8%)
  • Professionals (260 males or 15.0%)
  • Managers (232 males or 13.4%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 956 males in total or 55.2% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, The Entrance Ward employed 26.9% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 14.7% in Professionals; and 14.6% in Managers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Kariong and The Entrance Ward were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (6.8% compared to 4.9%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed as Sales Workers (7.8% compared to 6.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Labourers (11.6% compared to 13.3%)
