Settlement history

Large numbers of poultry farms were established in the post-war years, particularly in the Kulnura area. Some population growth took place during the 1950s and 1960s, aided by improved access. The most significant development occurred from the 1970s. The population increased during the 1990s as new dwellings were added to the area and dwelling occupancy rates increased. The population was relatively stable between 2001 and 2011, a result of few new dwellings being added and a decline in dwelling occupancy rates.
