Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Happy Valley in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (517 males or 18.1%)
  • Manufacturing (292 males or 10.2%)
  • Retail Trade (257 males or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,066 males in total or 37.3% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Reynella employed 21.6% in Construction; 9.8% in Manufacturing; and 10.1% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Happy Valley and Reynella were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in education and training (5.7% compared to 3.5%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (5.4% compared to 3.8%)
