Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Onkaparinga in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (12,004 females or 29.5%)
  • Retail Trade (5,129 females or 12.6%)
  • Education and Training (4,935 females or 12.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 22,068 females in total or 54.3% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Morphett Vale employed 31.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.6% in Retail Trade; and 9.1% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Onkaparinga and Morphett Vale were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (12.1% compared to 9.1%)
