Dominant groups

Analysis of the male five year age groups of Happy Valley in 2021 compared to the Hills South District shows that there was a higher proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 17.9% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 21.3% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 17.2% and 24.3% respectively for the Hills South District.

The major differences between the male age structure of Happy Valley and the Hills South District were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 30 to 34 (6.0% compared to 3.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 25 to 29 (5.7% compared to 3.5%)
