Dominant groups

Analysis of the female five year age groups of the Central North District in 2021 compared to Coromandel East - Cherry Gardens - Chandlers Hill - Ironbank shows that there was a higher proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a higher proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 16.3% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 21.7% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 14.9% and 19.2% respectively for Coromandel East - Cherry Gardens - Chandlers Hill - Ironbank.

The major differences between the female age structure of the Central North District and Coromandel East - Cherry Gardens - Chandlers Hill - Ironbank were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 30 to 34 (6.6% compared to 3.2%)
