Dominant groups

Analysis of the male five year age groups of Happy Valley in 2021 compared to Coromandel East - Cherry Gardens - Chandlers Hill - Ironbank shows that there was a higher proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) and a similar proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 18.6% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 20.6% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 17.6% and 21.1% respectively for Coromandel East - Cherry Gardens - Chandlers Hill - Ironbank.

The major differences between the male age structure of Happy Valley and Coromandel East - Cherry Gardens - Chandlers Hill - Ironbank were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 30 to 34 (6.0% compared to 2.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 35 to 39 (7.0% compared to 3.9%)
