Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of females in the City of Onkaparinga compared to Aberfoyle Park shows that there was a higher proportion of females who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 8.6% of the female population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 7.7% for Aberfoyle Park.

The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance in the Central North District and Aberfoyle Park were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 60 to 64 (10.6% compared to 3.9%)
  • A larger percentage of females aged 65 to 69 (9.7% compared to 6.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 85 and over (52.6% compared to 63.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 80 to 84 (30.8% compared to 36.1%)
