Dominant groups

Analysis of the country of birth of the non-English speaking population in Central Coast NSW in 2021 compared to the total population in Central Coast NSW shows that there was a larger proportion of people born overseas.

Overall, 70.6% of the non-English speaking population was born overseas, compared with 16.0% for the total population in Central Coast NSW.

The major differences between the countries of birth of the non-English speaking population in Central Coast Council area and the total population in Central Coast NSW were:

  • A larger percentage of people born in India (7.7% compared to 0.7%)
  • A larger percentage of people born in China (excludes SARs and Taiwan) (6.8% compared to 0.5%)
  • A larger percentage of people born in Philippines (6.3% compared to 0.7%)
  • A larger percentage of people born in Korea, Republic of (South) (2.8% compared to 0.2%)
