Dominant groups
Analysis of the family blending in Central Coast Council area in 2021 compared to the Ourimbah District shows that there was a higher proportion of step families as well as a higher proportion of blended families. Overall, 10.8% of total couple families with children were step families, and 4.9% were blended families, compared with 8.8% and 3.9% respectively for the Ourimbah District.
There were a higher proportion of other families and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 0.7% compared to 0.0% in the Ourimbah District while the proportion of intact families was 83.7% compared to 87.3% in the Ourimbah District.
