Analysis of household income levels for people born overseas in the City of Yarra in 2021 compared to the total population in the City of Yarra shows that there was a smaller proportion of people born overseas in high income households (those earning $3,000 per week or more) and a higher proportion in low income households (those earning less than $800 per week).
Overall, 36.6% of people born overseas were in households that earned a high income, and 17.5% were in low income households, compared with 45.3% and 11.3% respectively for the total population in the City of Yarra.
