Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Rural West in 2021 compared to the Mount Morgan District shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 29.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 7.1% were one-parent families, compared with 13.0% and 11.0% respectively for the Mount Morgan District.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 18.1% compared to 35.1% in the Mount Morgan District while the proportion of couples without children was 32.7% compared to 22.5% in the Mount Morgan District.
