Location and boundaries

Norman Gardens is located to the north-east of the Rockhampton CBD. Norman Gardens is bounded by Yeppoon Road in the north, the localities of Limestone Creek and Mount Archer in the east, Moores Creek in the south, and Yaamba Road (the Bruce Highway) in the west.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the late 1800s, although development was minimal until the 1950s. Rapid growth took place from the 1980s. The population continued to increase substantially from the early 1990s, a result of new dwellings being added to the area.

Land use

Norman Gardens is a developing residential area, with outlying rural areas.

Major features

Major features of the area include Central Queensland University (Rockhampton Campus), Central Queensland University Community Sports Centre, Red Hill Homemaker Centre, Sun City Sports Club, Juds Park, Webber Park, North Rockhampton Cemetery and several schools.
