Dominant groups
Analysis of the household/family types of children aged 5 to 11 years in Rockhampton Regional Council in 2021 compared to Regional QLD, shows that there was a lower proportion of children aged 5 to 11 years in couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion in one-parent families. Overall, 67.0% of children aged 5 to 11 years were in couple families with child(ren), and 26.0% were in one-parent families, compared with 71.0% and 21.7% respectively for Regional QLD.
There was a similar proportion of children aged 5 to 11 years in lone person households and a similar proportion in couples without children. Overall, the proportion of children aged 5 to 11 years in lone person households was 0.6% compared to 0.4% in Regional QLD while the proportion of couples without children was 0.6% compared to 0.5% in Regional QLD.
