Dominant groups
Analysis of the unpaid child care provided by the female population in the Narara Valley District in 2021 compared to Gosford West Ward shows that there was a higher proportion of females who provided unpaid child care either to their own or to other children. Overall, 30.2% of the female population provided unpaid child care, compared with 25.3% for Gosford West Ward.
The major differences between the share of the female population providing unpaid child care in the Narara Valley District and Gosford West Ward were:
- A larger percentage who provided unpaid childcare for own child/ren (23.5% compared to 19.1%)
- A smaller percentage who did not provide care for children (65.2% compared to 68.4%)

The number of females who provided unpaid child care for their own and/or other people's children in Narara Valley District decreased by 358 between 2016 and 2021.
