Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in The Entrance District in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (2,208 people or 19.1%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (1,797 people or 15.5%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (1,619 people or 14.0%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 5,624 people in total or 48.6% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Avoca Beach - Picketts Valley - Copacabana - MacMasters Beach employed 30.6% in Professionals; 12.5% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 10.9% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the The Entrance District and Avoca Beach - Picketts Valley - Copacabana - MacMasters Beach were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (10.1% compared to 6.0%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (14.0% compared to 10.9%)

The largest changes in the occupations of residents between 2006 and 2021 in the The Entrance District were for those employed as:
- Professionals (+923 persons)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (+666 persons)
- Managers (+436 persons)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (+368 persons)
