Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Community and Personal Service Workers (2,629 females or 22.1%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (2,405 females or 20.2%)
- Professionals (2,340 females or 19.7%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 7,374 females in total or 62.0% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, Gosford West Ward employed 17.9% in Community and Personal Service Workers; 20.9% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 25.5% in Professionals.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan and Gosford West Ward were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (22.1% compared to 17.9%)
- A larger percentage of females employed as Sales Workers (13.3% compared to 10.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Professionals (19.7% compared to 25.5%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Managers (8.1% compared to 11.0%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan increased by 1,820 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan were for those employed as:
- Community and Personal Service Workers (+660 females)
- Professionals (+521 females)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (+239 females)
- Managers (+125 females)
