Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (3,763 people or 15.6%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (3,621 people or 15.0%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (3,535 people or 14.6%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 10,919 people in total or 45.2% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Gosford East Ward employed 26.5% in Professionals; 11.6% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 13.3% in Technicians and Trades Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan and Gosford East Ward were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (8.4% compared to 3.3%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (11.7% compared to 6.9%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Professionals (15.6% compared to 26.5%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Managers (10.1% compared to 15.1%)

The number of employed people in Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan increased by 3,149 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of residents between 2016 and 2021 in Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan were for those employed as:
- Professionals (+831 persons)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (+802 persons)
- Managers (+338 persons)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (+323 persons)
