Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Green Point in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (440 females or 29.7%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (339 females or 22.9%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (243 females or 16.4%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,022 females in total or 69.0% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, the Peninsula District employed 23.2% in Professionals; 21.7% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 19.4% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Green Point and the Peninsula District were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (29.7% compared to 23.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (16.4% compared to 19.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Labourers (4.5% compared to 6.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Managers (8.8% compared to 10.3%)
