Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in The Entrance Ward in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (3,962 males or 26.9%)
  • Professionals (2,168 males or 14.7%)
  • Managers (2,150 males or 14.6%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 8,280 males in total or 56.2% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Kariong employed 26.8% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 15.0% in Professionals; and 13.4% in Managers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of The Entrance Ward and Kariong were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Labourers (13.3% compared to 11.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed as Managers (14.6% compared to 13.4%)
