Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Kariong in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (366 females or 22.6%)
- Professionals (365 females or 22.5%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (261 females or 16.1%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 992 females in total or 61.2% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, Mountains employed 18.4% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; 21.4% in Professionals; and 15.6% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Kariong and Mountains were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Sales Workers (13.7% compared to 7.4%)
- A larger percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (22.6% compared to 18.4%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Managers (9.7% compared to 16.6%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Labourers (6.2% compared to 9.4%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Kariong increased by 156 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest change in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in Kariong was for those employed as:
- Professionals (+88 females)
