Dominant groups

Analysis of the country of birth of the Arabic speaking population in Central Coast NSW in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a larger proportion of people born overseas.

Overall, 59.2% of the Arabic speaking population was born overseas, compared with 54.9% for Greater Sydney.

The major differences between the countries of birth of the Arabic speaking population in Central Coast Council area and Greater Sydney were:

  • A larger percentage of people born in Egypt (23.4% compared to 6.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of people born in Iraq (2.4% compared to 11.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of people born in Lebanon (17.8% compared to 24.4%)
