Analysis of the language used at home by the population of the Valleys District in 2021 compared to the Gorokan District shows that there was a larger proportion of people who used English only, and a smaller proportion of those using a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).
Overall, 90.8% of the population used English only, and 4.3% used a non-English language, compared with 86.8% and 5.7% respectively for the Gorokan District.
The dominant language used at home, other than English, in the Valleys District was Greek, with 0.4% of the population, or 19 people using this language at home.
There were no major differences between Valleys District and Gorokan District in 2021.
Between 2016 and 2021, the number of people who used a language other than English at home decreased by 13 or 6.7%, and the number of people who used English only increased by 176 or 4.8%.
