Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in East Brisbane Water and Coastal in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (3,261 males or 20.7%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,358 males or 8.6%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,331 males or 8.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,950 males in total or 37.7% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Ettalong Beach - Booker Bay employed 19.9% in Construction; 5.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 8.2% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of East Brisbane Water and Coastal and Ettalong Beach - Booker Bay were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (8.6% compared to 5.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in education and training (6.0% compared to 3.4%)
