Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Valleys District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Construction (231 males or 20.2%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (100 males or 8.7%)
- Manufacturing (88 males or 7.7%)
In combination, these three industries employed 419 males in total or 36.6% of the total employed male resident population.
In comparison, Central Coast Council area employed 19.9% in Construction; 1.0% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 8.4% in Manufacturing.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the Valleys District and Central Coast Council area were:
- A larger percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (8.7% compared to 1.0%)
- A larger percentage of males employed in other services (6.2% compared to 4.1%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed in retail trade (5.2% compared to 8.5%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (4.8% compared to 7.5%)

The number of employed males in Valleys District increased by 116 between 2016 and 2021.
There were no major differences in the Valleys District between 2016 and 2021.
