Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Wyong Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Construction (7,829 males or 21.7%)
- Manufacturing (3,510 males or 9.7%)
- Retail Trade (3,235 males or 9.0%)
In combination, these three industries employed 14,574 males in total or 40.4% of the total employed male resident population.
In comparison, Central Coast Council area employed 19.9% in Construction; 8.4% in Manufacturing; and 8.5% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Wyong Shire and Central Coast Council area were:
- A larger percentage of males employed in construction (21.7% compared to 19.9%)
- A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (9.7% compared to 8.4%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (4.2% compared to 6.2%)
