Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Valleys District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (275 people or 12.5%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (272 people or 12.4%)
  • Education and Training (210 people or 9.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 757 people in total or 34.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, North Gosford - Wyoming employed 8.9% in Construction; 19.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.2% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the Valleys District and North Gosford - Wyoming were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (7.5% compared to 0.6%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (12.5% compared to 8.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (12.4% compared to 19.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in retail trade (7.1% compared to 10.4%)

The number of employed people in Valleys District increased by 306 between 2011 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the resident population between 2011 and 2021 in the Valleys District were for those employed in:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (+112 persons)
  • Education and Training (+53 persons)
  • Construction (+53 persons)
