Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Gorokan District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,495 people or 18.8%)
  • Retail Trade (950 people or 11.9%)
  • Construction (945 people or 11.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,390 people in total or 42.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Woongarrah employed 15.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.9% in Retail Trade; and 10.7% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the Gorokan District and Woongarrah were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (18.8% compared to 15.4%)
