Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Gorokan in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (503 females or 31.3%)
  • Retail Trade (216 females or 13.4%)
  • Education and Training (166 females or 10.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 885 females in total or 55.1% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, West Brisbane Water and Peninsula employed 27.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.2% in Retail Trade; and 11.0% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Gorokan and West Brisbane Water and Peninsula were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (31.3% compared to 27.2%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (13.4% compared to 11.2%)
