Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Narara Valley and Ourimbah in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (2,391 females or 29.2%)
- Retail Trade (1,015 females or 12.4%)
- Education and Training (990 females or 12.1%)
In combination, these three industries employed 4,396 females in total or 53.7% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, Southern Lakes and The Entrance employed 27.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.2% in Retail Trade; and 13.2% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Narara Valley and Ourimbah and Southern Lakes and The Entrance were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (29.2% compared to 27.7%)
- A larger percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (5.8% compared to 4.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in education and training (12.1% compared to 13.2%)

The number of employed females in Narara Valley and Ourimbah increased by 589 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the jobs held by the female resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Narara Valley and Ourimbah were for those employed in:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+319 females)
- Education and Training (+101 females)
- Retail Trade (+67 females)
- Construction (+60 females)
