Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (4,433 people or 18.4%)
- Retail Trade (2,773 people or 11.5%)
- Construction (2,615 people or 10.8%)
In combination, these three industries employed 9,821 people in total or 40.7% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, The Entrance Ward employed 17.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.9% in Retail Trade; and 13.1% in Construction.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan and The Entrance Ward were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (11.5% compared to 9.9%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (7.5% compared to 6.1%)
