Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Green Point in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (230 males or 15.9%)
  • Retail Trade (150 males or 10.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (130 males or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 510 males in total or 35.3% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Woy Woy - Blackwall employed 18.2% in Construction; 8.2% in Retail Trade; and 7.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Green Point and Woy Woy - Blackwall were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in education and training (5.9% compared to 3.5%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in retail trade (10.4% compared to 8.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in transport, postal and warehousing (4.1% compared to 7.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in construction (15.9% compared to 18.2%)
