Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Wyong Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (10,061 females or 28.6%)
  • Retail Trade (4,645 females or 13.2%)
  • Education and Training (4,092 females or 11.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 18,798 females in total or 53.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Watanobbi employed 30.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.1% in Retail Trade; and 8.5% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Wyong Shire and Watanobbi were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (11.6% compared to 8.5%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (13.2% compared to 11.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (28.6% compared to 30.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in manufacturing (3.9% compared to 5.4%)
