Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Narara Valley and Ourimbah in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (3,128 people or 18.9%)
- Retail Trade (1,739 people or 10.5%)
- Construction (1,542 people or 9.3%)
In combination, these three industries employed 6,409 people in total or 38.8% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Warnervale - Wallarah - Bushells Ridge employed 16.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.9% in Retail Trade; and 14.7% in Construction.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Narara Valley and Ourimbah and Warnervale - Wallarah - Bushells Ridge were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (8.1% compared to 5.0%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (6.2% compared to 4.0%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (18.9% compared to 16.8%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in construction (9.3% compared to 14.7%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed people in Narara Valley and Ourimbah increased by 1,332 between 2006 and 2021.
The largest changes in the jobs held by the resident population between 2006 and 2021 in Narara Valley and Ourimbah were for those employed in:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+1,080 persons)
- Manufacturing (-528 persons)
- Construction (+432 persons)
- Education and Training (+319 persons)
