Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in The Entrance District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,961 people or 17.0%)
  • Construction (1,517 people or 13.1%)
  • Retail Trade (1,184 people or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,662 people in total or 40.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Warnervale - Wallarah - Bushells Ridge employed 16.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.7% in Construction; and 11.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the The Entrance District and Warnervale - Wallarah - Bushells Ridge were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (9.8% compared to 5.0%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (6.3% compared to 4.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (5.6% compared to 7.8%)
