Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in The Entrance District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (1,961 people or 17.0%)
- Construction (1,517 people or 13.1%)
- Retail Trade (1,184 people or 10.2%)
In combination, these three industries employed 4,662 people in total or 40.3% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Warnervale - Wallarah - Bushells Ridge employed 16.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.7% in Construction; and 11.9% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the The Entrance District and Warnervale - Wallarah - Bushells Ridge were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (9.8% compared to 5.0%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (6.3% compared to 4.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (5.6% compared to 7.8%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in retail trade (10.2% compared to 11.9%)

The number of employed people in The Entrance District increased by 584 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the jobs held by the resident population between 2016 and 2021 in the The Entrance District were for those employed in:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+377 persons)
- Education and Training (+182 persons)
- Construction (+133 persons)
- Retail Trade (-90 persons)
