Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Wyong in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (232 females or 28.3%)
- Retail Trade (102 females or 12.5%)
- Education and Training (75 females or 9.2%)
In combination, these three industries employed 409 females in total or 49.9% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, Toukley - Canton Beach employed 31.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.8% in Retail Trade; and 8.9% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Wyong and Toukley - Canton Beach were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in manufacturing (5.4% compared to 2.5%)
- A larger percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (5.0% compared to 2.6%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (28.3% compared to 31.1%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in administrative and support services (2.3% compared to 3.8%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Wyong increased by 119 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest change in the jobs held by the female resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Wyong was for those employed in:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+65 females)
