Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Wyong in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (232 females or 28.3%)
  • Retail Trade (102 females or 12.5%)
  • Education and Training (75 females or 9.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 409 females in total or 49.9% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Toukley - Canton Beach employed 31.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.8% in Retail Trade; and 8.9% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Wyong and Toukley - Canton Beach were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in manufacturing (5.4% compared to 2.5%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (5.0% compared to 2.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (28.3% compared to 31.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in administrative and support services (2.3% compared to 3.8%)
