Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the Coastal District in 2021 compared to Kincumber South - Bensville - Empire Bay - Killcare shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 35.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 9.8% were one-parent families, compared with 29.8% and 8.1% respectively for Kincumber South - Bensville - Empire Bay - Killcare.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 18.0% compared to 23.2% in Kincumber South - Bensville - Empire Bay - Killcare while the proportion of couples without children was 28.9% compared to 31.8% in Kincumber South - Bensville - Empire Bay - Killcare.
