Analysis of the household/family types in East Brisbane Water and Coastal in 2021 compared to the Peninsula District shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 32.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 9.8% were one-parent families, compared with 20.1% and 13.0% respectively for the Peninsula District.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 21.6% compared to 32.1% in the Peninsula District while the proportion of couples without children was 29.0% compared to 25.1% in the Peninsula District.
