Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the Toukley District in 2021 compared to the Peninsula District shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 19.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.2% were one-parent families, compared with 20.1% and 13.0% respectively for the Peninsula District.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 33.8% compared to 32.1% in the Peninsula District while the proportion of couples without children was 24.8% compared to 25.1% in the Peninsula District.
