Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Mountains and Valleys in 2021 compared to the East Brisbane Water District shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 33.6% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 8.2% were one-parent families, compared with 29.3% and 9.8% respectively for the East Brisbane Water District.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 17.9% compared to 25.5% in the East Brisbane Water District while the proportion of couples without children was 29.2% compared to 29.2% in the East Brisbane Water District.
