Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in East Brisbane Water and Coastal in 2021 compared to Woongarrah shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 32.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 9.8% were one-parent families, compared with 46.4% and 14.1% respectively for Woongarrah.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 21.6% compared to 10.2% in Woongarrah while the proportion of couples without children was 29.0% compared to 23.5% in Woongarrah.
