Dominant groups
Analysis of the female five year age groups of Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan in 2021 compared to Erina shows that there was a higher proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 19.0% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 19.9% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 10.1% and 51.4% respectively for Erina.
The major differences between the female age structure of Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan and Erina were:
- A smaller percentage of females aged 85 and over (3.2% compared to 16.2%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 80 to 84 (2.7% compared to 9.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 75 to 79 (3.9% compared to 10.2%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 70 to 74 (5.0% compared to 9.3%)
Emerging groups
From 2016 to 2021, Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan's female population increased by 2,683 people (10.0%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.92% per year over the period.
The largest changes in female age structure in this area between 2016 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 25 to 29 (+350 females)
- 30 to 34 (+307 females)
- 70 to 74 (+247 females)
- 35 to 39 (+199 females)
