Dominant groups
Analysis of the male five year age groups of Gorokan in 2021 compared to the Mountains District shows that there was a higher proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 18.9% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 20.1% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 13.3% and 21.8% respectively for the Mountains District.
The major differences between the male age structure of Gorokan and the Mountains District were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 25 to 29 (7.2% compared to 4.8%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 60 to 64 (5.8% compared to 9.3%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 50 to 54 (6.4% compared to 9.5%)

From 1991 to 2021, Gorokan's male population increased by 762 people (22.4%). This represents an average annual population change of 0.68% per year over the period.
The largest changes in male age structure in this area between 1991 and 2021 were in the age groups:
