Dominant groups
Analysis of the male five year age groups of East Brisbane Water and Coastal in 2021 compared to Regional NSW shows that there was a higher proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a higher proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 19.6% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 22.0% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 18.7% and 21.2% respectively for Regional NSW.
The major differences between the male age structure of East Brisbane Water and Coastal and Regional NSW were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 10 to 14 (7.4% compared to 6.6%)
- A larger percentage of males aged 15 to 19 (6.8% compared to 6.0%)

From 1991 to 2021, East Brisbane Water and Coastal's male population increased by 10,272 people (45.4%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.26% per year over the period.
The largest changes in male age structure in this area between 1991 and 2021 were in the age groups:
