Lake Munmorah - Chain Valley Bay's employment statistics are an important indicator of socio-economic status. The levels of full or part-time employment, unemployment and labour force participation indicate the strength of the local economy and social characteristics of the population. Employment status is linked to a number of factors including Age Structure, which influences the number of people in the workforce; the economic base and employment opportunities available in the area and; the education and skill base of the population (Occupations, Industries, Qualifications).

The size of Lake Munmorah - Chain Valley Bay's female labour force in 2021 was 1,514, of which 662 were employed part-time and 570 were full time workers.
Analysis of the female employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in Lake Munmorah - Chain Valley Bay in 2021 compared to Ettalong Beach - Booker Bay shows that there was a higher proportion in employment, and a lower proportion unemployed. Overall, 96.0% of the female labour force was employed, and 4.0% unemployed, compared with 94.6% and 5.4% respectively for Ettalong Beach - Booker Bay.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the female population in Lake Munmorah - Chain Valley Bay in 2021 shows that there was a lower proportion in the labour force (39.2%) compared with Ettalong Beach - Booker Bay (40.7%).
Emerging groups
Between 2016 and 2021, the number of females employed in Lake Munmorah - Chain Valley Bay showed an increase of 47, and the number unemployed showed a decrease of 35. In the same period, the number of females in the labour force showed an increase of 12 or 0.8%.
