The ability of the population to access services and employment is strongly influenced by access to transport. Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of the households in the East Brisbane Water District in 2021 compared to Tuggerah - Mardi shows that 91.1% of the households owned at least one car, while 5.2% did not, compared with 93.1% and 3.5% respectively in Tuggerah - Mardi.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.

Overall, 35.3% of the households owned one car; 36.7% owned two cars; and 19.1% owned three cars or more, compared with 32.7%; 37.9% and 22.5% respectively for Tuggerah - Mardi.
