Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Central Coast NSW compared to the West Brisbane Water District shows that there was a higher proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 7.3% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.7% for the West Brisbane Water District.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Wyong Ward and the West Brisbane Water District were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 60 to 64 (8.4% compared to 3.9%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 80 to 84 (26.3% compared to 22.6%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (17.9% compared to 15.0%)
