Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Central Coast NSW compared to Wyong shows that there was a lower proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 6.6% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 9.6% for Wyong.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in The Entrance Ward and Wyong were:

  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 65 to 69 (7.7% compared to 14.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 5 to 9 (6.2% compared to 10.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 60 to 64 (6.1% compared to 9.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 0 to 4 (1.6% compared to 4.8%)
